SP09-403 Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill – 2022 Filing with the Honolulu Planning Commission to Modify SUP No. 2008/SUP-2 (SP09-403)
On December 23, 2022, the LUC was notified by the Department of Environmental Services that it had filed an application with the Honolulu Planning Commission (“HPC”) to Modify its 2019 SUP No. 2008/SUP-2 (SP09-403) to extend its deadline from December 31, 2022 to December 31, 2024. The LUC is awaiting the outcome of these proceedings to schedule any hearings on this matter. The HPC held the preliminary hearing on this matter on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 and announced that it would be a contested case hearing with continued public testimony and various motions to be addressed on August 9, 2023. On May 30, 2023, the LUC received a copy of the Department of Planning and Permitting’s FOFCOL and D&O to the HPC. The HPC scheduled this matter to be heard at its August 9, 2023 meeting.
