Background

Kualoa Ranch, Inc. (“Petitioner”) filed a petition for declaratory order to designate Important Agricultural Lands (“IAL Petition”) on June 29, 2018.  The request is to designate approximately 761.55 acres at Hakipuʻu, Kualoa and Kaʻaʻawa Valleys, Island of Oʻahu, identified by TMK Nos. (1) 4-9-002:001 (por.); (1) 4-9-004:002 (por.); (1) 4-9-005:001 (por.); (1) 5-1-001:001 (por.), 016 (por.), 025 (por.); (1) 5-1-004:001 (por.); and (1) 5-1-007:001 (por.).  The petition seeks to designate those lands as Important Agricultural Lands (“IAL”) pursuant to sections 205-44 and -45, Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes (“HRS”) and sections 15-15-98, -99, -120, and -121, Hawaiʻi Administrative Rules (“HAR”).

Status

Petitioner filed a petition for declaratory order to designate Important Agricultural Lands (“IAL Petition”) on June 29, 2018.  Additional documents were filed by the Petition on July 27, 2018.  A hearing on the matter was held on August 8, 2018, and the petition was approved.  The Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Decision and Order was executed on October 29, 2018.
